Kit #171, Adapting the TH700R4 (non-electronic) to the STaK Monster Box transfer case.
At only .95" in length, this adapter assembly provides a combined transmission and adapter length of only 24.4" (equivalent to a 17.9" manual transmission). Especially important for short wheelbase YJ & TJ Wrangler Jeeps, the Novak kit provides an excellent and popular transmission conversion combination.
The adapter ring is made of aircraft aluminum for superior strength. The Novak output shaft provided is of a triple-alloy gear steel, precision splined, hardened and ground for a superior interchange. Our output shaft is not a friction-welded remake like competitor's units, but built from a solid billet.
This kit is compatible with all versions (2wd and 4wd) of the popular 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission. Transmission output shaft replacement (included with the kit) is required. Driveshaft length changes are usually required. Some Chevrolet engine conversions may move the engine ahead enough to minimize or eliminate the need for driveshaft changes.
Note the difference between conventional 700R4's and the electronic versions (dubbed the "four-bolt 4L60-E"), and order your kit below, accordingly. For this latter model, a simple transmission rear case modification is required to install the Speed Sensor. Instrutions, as always, are included.
